Online Bookmakers Suspend Benitez Betting – Online Casino News

Online bookmakers SkyBet.com and WilliamHill.com have suspended betting on Rafael Benitez’s future as manager of Liverpool Football Club after taking large sums on him being the next Premier League manager to lose his job.

Benitez was on the touchline last night to watch as his Liverpool side defeat Real Madrid by one goal to nil in the first leg of its last 16 Champions League encounter.

However, WilliamHill.com reported that it had been forced to drop the odds on Benitez being the next Premier League manager to leave his job, either through resignation or being sacked, from 20/1 to even money before suspending the market altogether on Tuesday evening.

For its part, SkyBet.com stated that it had seen a large number of bets on the Spaniard not being in charge at Anfield for the start of next season before it reinstated that market at odds of 1/4.

Benitez, a former youth team coach at Real Madrid, has been linked strongly with a move back to the Bernabeu after being unable to agree a new contract with the English team.

Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish is the favourite to take over from Benitez at odds of 5/2 with SkyBet.com and PaddyPower.com. The Scotsman has not managed since leaving Celtic in 2000 but could be tempted back to Merseyside by team owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks.

SkyBet.com are offering odds of 6/1 that former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could be in charge of Liverpool come next season while Frank Rijkaard is listed at odds of 10/1 by PaddyPower.com. Other prominent names include recently sacked Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari at 12/1 with PaddyPower.com and SkyBet.com while Real Madrid caretaker manager Juande Ramos is 14/1 with PaddyPower.com.
